Open Letter to Google

August 12, 2009

Dear HR:

I'm an experienced business development manager for PC software and biotechnology that has recently updated technical skills with a Sun Java Certification (SCJP) and training in bioinformatics, including machine learning algorithms and biostatistics at Stanford and UCSC Extension. I am looking for an entrepreneurial environment and a position in development or project management with client involvement especially in the health care sector.

Regarding system level background, I have experience with Ubuntu Linux to complement my day to day experience with the Mac environment and prior experience with OEM Windows software delivery at InterVideo. I have done Java programming on both Mac and Linux platforms and strongly support open source.

Short term I am looking for a position applying Java to applications and delivery of Google's excellent services online. Longer term I would like to develop for a patient controlled electronic medical record infrastructure extending Google Health Record to enable integration of genomic information into the health care delivery system. I believe that Google could have a significant role to play in providing an independent repository of information and services to empower consumers in the direction of their own health care choices while ensuring security and privacy. The result would be a more efficient and accountable health care system.

Sincerely yours,

Christopher Grell
